Screen Printing

Precise ink application for logos, text and multi-colour graphics on glass bottles.

What Is Screen Printing?

Screen printing is one of the most versatile and widely used decoration techniques for glass bottles in the fragrance, candle, and diffuser industries. The process involves transferring ink through a finely woven mesh screen onto the glass surface, producing sharp, durable graphics with excellent colour fidelity.

At KeepMe, our screen printing capabilities support up to four colours per bottle, including metallic and speciality inks. The process delivers consistent results across large production runs, making it ideal for brand logos, product names, batch codes, and decorative patterns. Ink adhesion is secured through a curing process that bonds the print permanently to the glass surface, ensuring resistance to handling, moisture, and everyday wear.

Screen printing works on virtually any bottle shape and profile, from flat-sided rectangles to curved cylindrical forms. It is compatible with clear, frosted, and coloured glass substrates, and pairs well with other decoration techniques such as hot stamping and spray coating to create layered, multi-finish designs.

The Process

1

Artwork Preparation

Your artwork is separated into individual colour layers and converted into high-resolution screen-ready files. Each colour requires its own dedicated screen.

2

Screen Making

Fine-mesh screens are coated with a light-sensitive emulsion and exposed using your artwork. The exposed areas create the printing stencil through which ink passes.

3

Ink Application

Bottles are positioned on the printing machine and each colour is applied sequentially. Inks are precisely mixed to match your specified Pantone colours.

4

Curing & Quality Check

Printed bottles pass through a curing oven to bond the ink permanently to the glass. Each bottle is inspected for print alignment, colour accuracy, and defect-free coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many colours can be screen printed on a bottle?

We can screen print up to four colours on a single bottle. Each colour is applied as a separate pass, allowing precise registration and layering. Metallic and speciality inks are also available.

Is screen printing durable on glass?

Yes. Screen-printed inks are cured at high temperatures, creating a permanent bond with the glass surface. The print is resistant to handling, moisture, and light exposure, maintaining clarity and colour for the lifetime of the product.

Can you print on curved bottles?

Yes, our screen printing equipment handles both flat and curved surfaces. Cylindrical, oval, and irregular bottle shapes can all be printed with consistent quality.

What is the minimum order for screen-printed bottles?

Minimum order quantities for screen-printed bottles start from 500 units. The initial run includes screen setup charges, which are reduced on repeat orders using the same artwork.

Can screen printing be combined with other techniques?

Absolutely. Screen printing pairs well with hot stamping for metallic text, spray coating for coloured backgrounds, and acid etching for textured contrast. Our team advises on the best sequencing for multi-technique designs.
